Hey guys, in today’s post I’m going to be talking about what is an autoresponder. If you’re clueless about autoresponders you definitely want to stick around.
Sometimes when I write my posts I forget that they are still many new people just getting started with learning online marketing and a lot of what I write is more advanced.
Understanding what an autoresponder is and exactly what it does is one of the most important things you can learn and it will provide you the opportunity to streamline your business as well as build your income.
An autoresponder is a service that allows you to automatically send out emails to subscribers that have signed up to receive emails from your lead capture page. Once your lead capture page is set up and the emails are written the sending process is automatic.
Using email is a very effective way to communicate because a person can stay on your list for years and years as it helps build relationships and trust. 70% of marketers say that email is their biggest source of ROI or return on investment.
How Does An Autoresponder Work
A person may subscribe to your list because of a free offer, join a newsletter or simply learn more about your opportunity or service.
Once a person also known as a lead agrees to receive emails from you or opts in, your autoresponder will automatically begin to send emails to your subscribers for as long as they are subscribed and you have created enough messages.
What I mean by that is for example, let’s say that you create a sequence of ten messages and you set them to go out every other day.
Once your tenth email message goes out and you haven’t created any additional messages the subscriber won’t receive emails from that list until you add more messages.
You can however send out a broadcast which is simply sending out a message that isn’t part of the email sequence. Let’s say you discovered a tool or resource that will be beneficial to your subscribers, that is when you would send out a broadcast.
Now sometimes your business opportunity will include a lead capture page and a series of messages to help you get started. It’s best to use a capture page that is different from the one your opportunity offers.
Build Your Own List
When I talk about your business opportunity I’m talking about mostly mlm companies such as: Essential Oils, MaryKay, Beachbody, etc. All these are great companies but everyone that joins gets the same cookie cutter website to promote.
If everyone in the company has the same site why is someone going to pick you over the next person in the company. People don’t join companies, they join people. You’re selling yourself short by not taking advantage of your personality and passion.
Don’t worry, it’s perfectly okay to start with using your biz opp resources such as lead capture and autoresponder and then work your way up. The reason I say that is because you want to stand out from everyone else in that opportunity.
When you create your own lead capture page you can put your own personality in it, you can put videos on the capture page, you can start branding yourself and separating yourself from the pack.
Another thing to keep in mind is if you don’t build your own capture page and list you are dependent on the company. You are building their list, the list of emails are not yours.
Maybe a year from now the company fails or you’re just not happy with the company. All the work you’ve put in to growing your business is out the window if you haven’t built your own list.
This is why I stress as soon as possible build your own brand with the company and have your own capture page and autoresponder.
Provide Value To Your Subscribers
Now I’m sure that you’ve gotten on some email list and you’re like “okay I’m getting too many emails always trying to sell me” then you unsubscribe.
I have been on hundreds of lists just like this. I think I’m on only 3 now and those 3 continue to provide valuable content in almost every email they send. That’s the goal you should be reaching for in your emails.
The whole point of building your list is to build a relationship with your readers. Help them solve a problem, help them achieve a goal, provide value. That’s how you build a loyal following and grow your business.
