How To Remove Fake Google Review
Five star reviews can bring in a lot of business but sometimes a negative one creeps in and as frustrating as it is some of those negative reviews are actually fake but not to worry I’m gonna show you how to remove fake google review.
Hopefully you realize how important those reviews can be for your business. They can help you be found online and they say a lot about your credibility but even the best businesses will get a negative review from time to time.
Sometimes they’ll come from actual customers who weren’t happy with the experience they had, sometimes from a disgruntled former employee which I’ve seen happen quite often.
Sometimes they’re a completely fake review left by a competitor or even worse just an online troll and that’s really frustrating when you’ve worked so hard to build up those good reviews.
Respond To Fake Reviews
I’m going to show you the whole process step by step of removing a fake Google review. The first thing you’re going to want to do is respond to it. You want to call out the review as fake but in a professional way.
Here’s what I would say: “while our actual clients are always pleased with the work we do sometimes a fake review gets into the mix. We have never worked with this reviewer and Google has been notified of the issue.”
This is a good first step and I’ll show you how to do that. There’s going to be a little flag that pops up next to the review, go ahead and click that and then you’re going to want to enter in your email address.
Click the violation type that most closely resembles what you’re going for. If you have a review that contains any kind of hate speech or profanity you can definitely get it taken care of.
Now you’ll wait to hear back from Google so give it a few days but if you don’t hear back after that it you may have to get a little more aggressive and reach out to Google in a different way.

Reach Out To Google
A really good second step after flagging a fake review is to actually reach out to Google on their Twitter profile. You can go to twitter.com/Googlemybiz and click the message button to reach out directly.
Here’s a message you could use. “hi there, I got a fake review on my business listing awhile back from somebody who I have never had any actual contact with. Is there something I can do to get it taken down? Thank you.”
Another thing you want to do is make sure you add in all of your pertinent business information so that they can track it down. Once you’ve done that you just wait to see what happens. Give it 2-3 days.
If you’ve heard nothing back from Google then the next step is to give Google a call and just explain the situation. For me personally this is what I would recommend. This way you can talk it out in real time, it can get elevated to the right people and you can make your case.
A few things to remember here. You’re not going to be able to get every fake review taken off .I think the more realistic the review looks the harder time you’re going to have removing it.
If you are dealing with a really vindictive person who went out of their way to make it look real you might have a harder time but if it has any kind of hate speech or they start talking about anyone in the company personally that’s another way it can get taken off.
