Resources For Graphic Designers

Resources For Graphic Designers

I have been dabbling with web and graphics design for many years and I still kind of suck at it but I do know some handy resources and in this article we will be checking out several resources for graphics designers.

If you know of any useful websites for designers let us know in the comments below and if you have any article requests I’d gladly accept those as well because I’m always running out of ideas for new content.

Dafont

The first website on this list and these are in no particular order is dafont.com. You can find thousands of free fonts to use in your web or graphics design projects.

Dafont boasts over 35,000 unique fonts which can be browsed by category alphabetically and through search. They also have lists of newly added fonts and also the most popular ones.

Downloading a font is easy-peasy, just click on the download button next to the font that you want, save the zip file, extract it and install.

Pixabay

Another very useful website is pixabay.com. On Pixabay you can find free stock images including photos illustrations, some vector graphics and even videos.

These images can be downloaded in different resolutions and the best part is that most of the content on pixabay is licensed with the Creative Commons 0 license.

That means that you can use the images freely in any project even commercial and you don’t even need to credit the original artist. This makes Pixabay very convenient to use. You do however need to register for a free account to download content from Pixabay.

Free CSS

Free-CSS.com is a useful website for web designers where you can download free CSS and HTML templates to create websites.

With some programming skills you can convert these templates into themes for WordPress Joomla or other content management systems or just use them as plain HTML web sites.

FreeCSS.com has over 2700 free templates. Downloading a template is simple just find a template that you want either by browsing or using the search function then click on the download button, save the zip file, extract it and begin editing your template.

The Noun Project

The Noun Project is another website that a lot of web designers might find useful. It’s a website where you can download over a million icons for free.

However free users have to provide attribution when they use the icons but if you subscribe to their Noun Pro service you don’t have to.

Finding icons is pretty easy, you can either browse for random icons or use the search function to search for any icons that you might need. However like with Pixabay you do have to sign up for an account to download the icons.

Clipart

Next up we have openclipart.org which is a useful website for designers where you can download clipart images in many different formats including SVG which is a vector image and high quality PNG image files.

All the Clipart images uploaded are licensed with the Creative Commons 0 license so as with Pixabay you can use these images even in commercial projects without attribution.

Downloading images from clipart org is fairly simple. Just find an image that you want to download, select your preferred format and the image.

Archive3D

There’s archive3d.net where you can download free 3d models that you can use in whatever projects you might need. The website design is a bit lacking in my opinion but there are thousands of free 3d models available and you don’t even need to register to download.

Most files are in Autodisk 3ds format which is easy to import into free 3d modeling software such as Blender. To download a 3d model you can either browse by category or use the search function click on the one you like then click on the download button.

Thumbnail Blaster

With Thumbnail Blaster you can create attention-grabbing thumbnails in 3 clicks with the world’s only A.I. thumbnail creation app for YouTube, Facebook, Instagram or any video platform out there!

Thumbnail Blaster comes with over 30 thumbnail templates across multiple niches: weight loss, local business, gaming, travel, vlogs, pets, reviews, music, seo, sports, real estate, makeup… You name it… They’ve got you covered!
